Robert E. (Bob) Swanson, Jr. WHEREAS,
Mr.
Bob Swanson, a community leader in every sense
of the word is stepping back from his role as
Constituent Liaison and Community Organizer for
the Office of Alameda County Supervisor Nate
Miley, and it is appropriate that we pay tribute
to Bob Swanson in everything he has done for the
community of Castro Valley and beyond, as he
exhibits outstanding volunteer service and
display traits of responsibility, compassion,
self-discipline, honesty, respect and integrity
in the work he has done for this community; and WHEREAS, As a leader that
gives his time to many different facets of
community service, Bob Swanson has been a
resident of Castro Valley since 1973, and has
been involved in hundreds of community events in
Castro Valley serving on various boards and
committees including the Alameda County Housing
and Community Development Advisory Committee,
the Alameda County Castro Valley General Plan
Revision Committee, and the Southern Alameda
County Community Housing Resource Board, as well
as founding the Caltrans Tenants Organization;
and WHEREAS, Bob Swanson has
served as Constituent Liaison and Community
Organizer for Supervisor Nate Miley, and has
championed many causes, including housing, human
rights, and medical marijuana, creating a legacy
of community involvement and civic concern that
will long inspire his fellow citizen in the
unincorporated areas of Ashland, Cherryland,
Castro Valley, and Fairview and beyond; and WHEREAS, Throughout the
years, he has given much of his time and effort
to fostering engagement in the political process
as an active member of the Democratic Central
Committee and as a result of his tireless hard
work and unwavering commitment, Bob Swanson has
compiled an impressive record of civic
achievements, a record that has earned him the
admiration and respect of those who have had the
privilege of associating with him; now,
therefore, be it RESOLVED BY SENATOR ELLEN
CORBETT, That Bob Swanson is commended on
everything he has done for his community, and that
she wishes him and his family all the best with
future endeavors. November
